Thanh and Cassie
"One child, one teacher
one pen, and
one book, can
change the world"
- -MALALA YOUSAFZAI
Thanh and Cassie met in Kolkata, India in 2013. Their like-minded ideas for missionary work and charity made them quick friends. Faith-Hope-Love Foundation blossomed from their friendship.
Thanh who does most of the ground work in Kolkata was born on May 9, 1971 in Saigon, Vietnam. On April 30, 1975, he left his country with his family when the war ended and has lived in the United States ever since. He attended school at the University of Colorado in Denver and earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 1992. Later, he earned a teaching credential in 1998 and has taught science to high school students since then. In August, 2012, he came to Kolkata to volunteer, working with the poor and came to realise he needed to do more than just providing food for them to eat. It was in Kolkata, he realised a desire to serve and to provide fair opportunities to children living in poverty to have access to good education and a better life.
Originally from America, Cassie found her passion in travel and has visited over 30 countries. However, her heart still lies in Kolkata, India. With a strong desire to give to others, she works closely with Thanh in their belief that every child deserves a chance to learn and be educated. One child at a time, they are giving Hope for a future to these children. Cassie is a classical musician when not walking the streets of Kolkata!
